Our bantam hen just hatched her first clutch. She is the proud mother of 8 little ones as of now, but still some more to come. My family sat enraptured by the event.

We had never seen baby chickens hatch in their natural environment. The little mother is so good with the babies.

She is so hungry from sitting with them all day awaiting each new arrival. My daughter fed her some Cheerios and she gobbled them up while one of her first born tried to peck at it. It is amazing to see this little life, just dried and fluffy already making its way in the world.

God put in each new creature the love of discovery and a will to live. My children named the first born Curious George, because he has to be told by his mother to come back, because he loves to wander and explore. One of them is so timid, preferring to only peak out from his mother's wing feathers to look at the world. Funny, who thought baby chicks would have such different personalities. I am so glad we got to witness yet another of God's simple miracles.
